hello there, This is Football tale and today we are going to discuss this person. This is Stanley Matthews. He played football at Stoke City and Blackpool City. Matthews was the first ever ballon d'or winner. In his professional career, he scored 82 goals in 753 matches. Matthews was a boy from the town of Stoke-on-Trent where he played football with his neighbourhood boys. He made his debut at Stoke City in 1932. Matthews played as an outfield player and was best known for his dribbles. Two years later, he made his national team debut against Wales. It ended up 4-0 for England. In 1956, Matthews was voted best player in Europe.
