Babies grow up fast. And their brains grow even faster. During their first three years, babies’ brains form more than 1 million new neural connections every second. And all those connections impact how babies learn and relate to others for the rest of their lives. So we need to look out for babies while their brains are rapidly developing, by adopting policies that give them what they need to thrive. And who knows what babies need better than their families? So we’ve been inviting babies’ families from all 50 states and Washington DC to share their stories with their representatives. Over the years, their stories and our work with state partners have shaped policies nationwide: Increasing investment in infant and early childhood mental health, Expanding paid family and medical leave programs, Boosting child care and Early Head Start funding, Transforming the lives of babies in child welfare. And we’re not done yet. We’re making the potential of every baby a national priority. So join the growing movement and Think Babies.
