In Western nations, in nations with a long Christian heritage, a cultural war is being fought. Some of us see this war, and many of us don’t. However, there is a battle between two very different ideas as to how one builds a healthy, flourishing society. In one corner, there is the traditional Christian worldview. It is a worldview that once raised up Western nations – eventually lifting our ancestors out of the daily grind of subsistence living. Because of this worldview, we, today, can enjoy the many blessings we have access to. Today, we are not living on less than a dollar a day – as most of our ancestors did. Some seventy years ago, when the period of colonisation came to an end, many aspects of this Christian worldview were passed on to other nations around the world. Many democracies were formed in countries that would never have gained democracies in any other way. Since then, most of these countries have also seen rapid development. Billions of people have experienced a massive rise in wealth and overall well-being. Such an outcome has never happened before in the history of humankind. In essence, the Christian worldview has proven, over a long period of time and in a variety of settings, that it offers positive cultural energy. It is not something you throw away lightly. In the other corner, we have a new religion or faith. We can call it a faith for the believers of this new worldview have a belief that if their political ideas are put into the lawbooks, then nations can look forward to a brighter future. The name of this new faith is progressivism or globalism. This new worldview has its roots in Marxism – and thus, it is often called cultural Marxism. Those who become disciples of this new faith are often called social justice warriors or Woke. When we look at the history of the implementation of Marxism – especially economic Marxism as applied in the USSR and China – we can see that it is one that this full of tragedy, brutality, and decay. If progressivism has its roots in Marxism, one has to surmise that the same destructive future awaits those nations seeking to implement the progressive worldview. For many citizens, their awareness of this culture war is relatively new. It has become particularly noticeable over the last ten years. However, this battle between the Christian and Marxist worldviews has already been going on for over a hundred years. Progressive ideas that have no foundation within the Christian ethos have already become legislation in all western nations. Hence, we see signs of decay everywhere. Today, on the edges of society, there are many groups of individuals who are having worse life outcomes than their parents had. Many of these citizens are struggling to enter life. They might be consistently in jail, or suffer from depression, or are addicted to some form of drug or to gambling, or are unable to form a long-term relationship. And the size of these groups of struggling citizens has been growing since the 1970s. And our nations are going ever further into debt as politicians seek to help these struggling citizens – as the public seeks to pay for all the damage that the progressive legislation has caused. Today, cultural Marxism is deeply embedded in our nations. We see evidence of this in many forms. For example, professionals who still see the world through the lens of the Christian worldview and are brave enough to speak up are being cancelled from speaking events, or citizens are being fined, or are having their businesses attacked on social media, or are even being jailed. Moreover, even though cultural Marxism is deeply linked with the far left of the political spectrum – to authoritarianism and social control - many Conservative politicians today are seduced into supporting aspects of this new worldview. Thus, nations with a Christian heritage are in a battle for their very existence. And since the progressive worldview is now being pushed around the world, we are also talking about the well-being of all of humanity. You may not feel that you are interested in politics. However, if something isn’t done soon to reverse the current trend, the future for your children and grandchildren will be bleak. Our democracies will end, and their standard of living will drastically fall. Many more of us will live on the poverty line or be homeless. We will see the rebirth of something akin to the authoritarian and oppressive USSR, but on a worldwide level. Thus, we all have to decide whether we wish to enter this battle or not. For the sake of providing clarity, it’s helpful if we take a brief look at the political strategy that is being used to bring about the decline of the West. One might call this political strategy the Marxist game plan. It is a strategy that is consistently used by the progressives as a means to instigate all of their nation-harming pieces of legislation or policies. One can understand this game plan by analysing what happened when economic Marxism was implemented in the Soviet Union. First, there was the demand that we all should become particularly concerned about the plight of a specific group of challenged citizens – not all groups of challenged citizens – only the group of citizens that the progressive activists wanted to use as a means to advance their political goals. In Russia, this specific group was the poor. Then, through using their friends in the media and education system, the progressives created a storyline that caused many citizens to have a heightened sensitivity concerning the difficulties that this specific group faced. Next, after having created this heightened sensitivity, the demand was then made that it would be compassionate and fair to implement a political intervention to help this specific group of individuals. In the case of Russia, the heightened sensitivity brought about a revolution. This, they said, would bring about a more just and fair society. However, the Marxist suggested legislative interventions always have a toxic element to them. The activists tell politicians that the only way to solve the desperate plight of the specific group they say they care about is if politicians can grant this group the legal right to harm other groups of citizens. “We can only help these people by hurting these people. But it will be worth it.” Their slogan was: “The ends justify the means.” Hence, in the USSR, tens of millions were murdered in the name of compassion and fairness. And millions ended up living and dying in soul-crushing gulags. Almost all entrepreneurs who had good ideas could never implement them. The average citizen worked in a boring job, typically seeing no improvement in their work environment over the course of their working life. The economy became stagnant. Many men turned to alcoholism as a result. And most people lived just above the poverty line. Meanwhile, the Marxist leaders became the new, ruling oligarchs. Most lived comfortable lives - with absolute power to do whatever they wished. Meanwhile, western democracies powered ahead, allowing ever-increasing numbers of citizens to live economically fruitful lives. Lastly, those who disagreed with the political intervention that the progressives proposed were given a label which made it seem that they didn’t care about the poor. In the USSR, “You’re a member of the uncaring bourgeoisie” was something all citizens were frightened of being called. Many citizens did care about the poor, but they could see that the legislative interventions would cause far more harm than good. However, because of this deceptive label, people were scared to speak about the laws that did so much harm. Much-needed social discussion was totally shut down because of this misleading label. In other words, despite its admirable goals, the Marxist game plan did not work as a means to build a vibrant society. Today, in the West, this same political strategy has been reinvented several times and applied to several social issues. The progressives talk about creating improved social outcomes for particular groups of citizens. Activists talk of high ideals. This draws many thoughtful and intelligent people in to support the proposed legislation. However, it is always the case that these political interventions harm more people than they help. We will later show why this is always the case. The core progressives who push forward certain social issues from behind the scenes know this. Behind the Marxist game plan, there is always one core goal – that far more people are harmed than are helped. The harm done to other groups of citizens, or society as a whole, is always far more significant than any good that is achieved through the proposed legislative intervention. If the core progressives can’t use an issue to achieve this goal, they won’t invest in it. In essence, the game plan is specifically designed and used to bring about social decay. “In the name of compassion or fairness, a political right to harm various groups of citizens is invented, and social decay comes about” defines all laws and policies that are suggested under the Marxist name brand. Once one understands how the game plan was used to impose economic Marxism on Russia, one can then start to see how this same strategy is being used today as a means to bring in legislation that falls under the umbrella of cultural Marxism.
