Family Ryan was born on august 8th 1998 and grew up in Victorville California with his very supportive parents Henry and Lisa Garcia. Currently, his father is still one of his trainers and his mother is his personal administrative. Ryan Has 3 sisters Demi, Sasha and Kayla and a brother named Sean who also happens to be a great boxer. Growing Up Ryan’s passion for boxing started at age 7 before this Ryan was playing Baseball although he was good at it, he didn’t like how he didn’t have full control over if his team won or lost. From these events, Ryan gave team sports a rest and asked his uncle if there was a sport that only relied on how well he performed. His uncle then showed him a video of people boxing. Ryan then gave it a try and loved it from the first punch, He was then attached to the sport of boxing. He soon joined a gym but was shortly kicked out due to lying about his age. Ryan was only seven while you needed to be 8 to fight. His uncle Sergio then took control over Ryan and trained him in his garage. However, this stopped in two months when Ryan’s dad started training him instead. He tried his hardest to allow Ryan to succeed. However, Henry made sure Ryan knew that he had to work hard, so he stated… At this time Ryan’s family’s financial problem was getting really corrupt. The worst moment happened when a guy arrived at the door of their home and claimed to have purchased it for $3000. It had gotten so bad that Ryan used to go to Walmart and beg for food because things had become so awful. Ryan was very committed, though, and his father claims that his motivation and toughness are what push him. Amateur Ryan was one of the best Amateur fighters, he became a 15-time national champion fighting many current professionals. Including Daven Haney who is the number one current fighter in the lightweight division. Professional On June 9th, 2016, Ryan's professional career officially began. He faced Edgar Mezza in his professional debut, which he won through first-round TKO. In November 2016, he then signed with Golden Boy. He quickly made his debut with the "Golden Boy" promotion, becoming victorious after a first-round knockout. Ryan subsequently then carried on obliterating opponents to win the WBC interim lightweight championship against Luke Campbell. However, the belt was taken away from him due to Ryan abandoning too many fights because of mental health problems and the fact that he had just undergone hand surgery.
