Alright, to make it short, zakat does not only generate a sense of belonging, it also eliminates the desire for accumulation of wealth at any cost. Zakah, on one hand, purifies the individual who gives Zakah from selfishness and indifference. This helps to reduce any illegal means and corruption among the wealthy people. As the wealthy people give zakah, it is a guarantee that their wealth also is not going to decrease but instead, it will increase. That's Allah’s promise. Just like what Ibn Taymiyyah, one of the sunni islamic scholar said, it is not only the wealth of the Zakat-payer that undergoes increase and purification but also the soul of the believer who upholds his or her Zakat obligation. Besides, zakah also purifies those who receive Zakah from the Feelings of hatred and resentment against the wealthy people as they, the needy people also have their rights on zakah. Their rights had been stated in the quran. Allah swt mention in Surah Az Zariyat, verse 19 Thus, when the needy receive zakah or get their right, it creates love for others people too. This will bring harmony and as a result, thesociety can live in peace. Therefore the proper administration of the Zakah institution is viewed as a significant tool for facilitating community development and bolstering the Muslim economy. Hence this portrays that Zakah is a Very important source of stability of the society. In conclusion, Zakah has a vital role in this society.
