In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Prophet Muhammad, may Gods peace and blessings be upon him said 1400 years ago that, „If a fly falls in the vessel of any of you, let him dip all of it (into the vessel) and then throw it away, for in one of its wings there is a disease and in the other there is healing. (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 673)” This hadith created controversy because in general flies are a vector for the spread of disease from dirty places to food or drinks. After a recent research it was found that the fly's right-wing acts as antidote and the left-wing carries diseases. Only in modern times was it discovered that the common fly carries parasitic pathogens for many diseases including malaria, typhoid fever, cholera, and others. Another discovery was that the fly carries parasitic bacteriophagic fungi capable of fighting the germs of all these diseases. But did dipping a fly into the water after it fell in it really help? To find this out, a research was conducted on right-wing of fly as neutralization of drinks contaminated by a microbe. This research used the method of CRD by 5 treatments and 2 repetitions. The treatment was done by sterilized water (positiv control), drinking water contaminated by the bacteria E. coli (negative control), and drinking water that was also contaminated by E. coli bacteria, but with the addition of 1, 2, and 3 right-wings of flies. The research began with taking the right-wing of fly and continued with the dilution of E. coli culture tubes up to 6 times. Data retrieval is done by observing the calculation of the number of microbes (bacteria, germs etc.) using a colony counter every 12 hours. The data which obtained after 48 hours incubation show "0" as the result. The result indicates the microbial development does not occur on contaminated drinks by addition with right-wing of fly, which means that the right-wing indeed acts as an antidote after dipping it in.
