Untitled Recording Hi, my name's Jake. And, I have a deranged mother. Most of the time, my mother makes me feel like I don't even exist. She even forgot that I like to swim. Wait, don’t I like to swim? The ocean… I used to go there all the time. Ooh, here she comes with a somber look on her face. Please don’t tell her what I’ve said. Untitled Recording (2) Mom refuses to take me to the beach. Nor, school… And I have stopped bothering her anymore. Just yesterday, I overheard my mom talking to a doctor. I didn’t hear much but apparently I shouldn’t go near saltwater.. My guess is that things would get worse. I badly want to visit my lola’s house again. Or, better yet walk along the ocean shore’s soft and warm sands. Untitled Recording (3) I’m frightened. My mom has been here in the house all day. She has her eyes locked on me. But, it’s weird ‘cause it seems like her eyes see right through me. I wanna say, “I’m here, mom,” but she might react violently. Last night, she had a nightmare and was calling out my name repeatedly. She snuggled me and dozed herself to sleep. Untitled Recording (4) I love my mom. I hope she stops crying soon. I just wish we could go to the ocean, like old times sake. Untitled Recording (5) Finally, my most awaited Batangas trip! Mom doesn’t seem happy, tho… She smiled briefly, but I feel her terrified. Untitled Recording (6) The sand, the crystal blue water, the bright sun… Hello, my old friends… been a long time. I’m so happy! Mom kissed me on the cheeks. Even mom is smiling widely now. Untitle Recording (7) Mom is smiling widely. I’m running towards the beach. Untitled Recording (8) Mom is smiling. I’m nearer the shore. Untitled Recording (9) At last, my feet felt the rush of water. She approvingly nods. The waves invites me closer.. Untitled Recoding (10) I saw mom tearing up. The same tears 9 years ago. I’m free, and I hope she is.
