A social and business club with rich history A society- and business club in Amsterdam, where as a member, you are surrounded by a diverse group of people from social and business communities. A place where you and your guests can attend over 200 lectures and activities per year. Often with notable speakers from social and business communities, with honourable accomplishments in their profession. The place to be for luncheons, dinners and meetings as well as jazz nights, book presentations or culinary evenings. The perfect place to let your mind prosper. All of this located in the heart of Amsterdam on Dam Square in a monumental and historical building with classical halls and a modern atmosphere, filled with rich art and culture. Welcome to the Royal Industrieele Groote Club. Our objective is to unite kindred spirits from the (inter)national business community and their corresponding interests to connect business and social interests as well as accommodate and promote shared cultural interests. The Club values good manners with respect for each other and each other's privacy. The atmosphere is casual, intimate and warm, nonetheless a number of house rules apply. Every member is expected to know and comply with the house rules of the Koninklijke IGC. Dress code rules must be complied with when visiting the club. Members must inform their guests about the dress code in order to avoid disappointments. The dress code after 5pm from Monday to Thursday is 'Tenue-de-ville' For men: a suit or a combination of a neat jacket, dress pants with matching shirt and tie (or bowtie), socks and shoes. Men keep their jacket on inside the club. For ladies: neat representable clothing, includes a neat sweater, suit (deux-pièces or skirt / jacket), jumpsuit, coat dress, neat dress (with short sleeves) with tights or stockings, elegant boots or shoes. Until 5pm and on Fridays, denim (jeans / blue jeans) is permitted for ladies and gents and a ties and jackets are not obligated (neat sweater with matching shirt permitted for gents). At all times, following are not permitted: shorts or three-quarter pants; mini-skirts; polo shirts of t-shirts; spaghetti straps; sports or other casual wear; tracksuits; sports shoes or sneakers; coarse boots; sandals; flip flops; swimwear; leggings or anything similar and for men: coarse sweaters or jumpers.
