<speak> <emphasis level="strong">Session Summary- Transitioning from threat to soothing</emphasis><break strength="x-strong"/> <break strength="x-strong"/> As we said before, much of our work entails finding the path to transition from our threat system to our soothing system.<break strength="x-strong"/> The invitation is to relate to our threat system with patience, mindfulness and compassion, instead of avoiding our suffering, allowing ourselves to feel it with care.<break strength="x-strong"/> Once we have allowed ourselves contact with our suffering and fully notice it, we can gently begin to take actions to take care of ourselves and activate our soothing system.<break strength="x-strong"/> We can activate our soothing system by meditating or engaging with self-care activities, while relating to ourselves through an emotional texture of warmth and understanding.<break strength="x-strong"/> Another way to activate our soothing system is through warm connection with others.
