The solution is to replace the gas technology with Evolis vacuum technology which is more environmentally friendly. The Evolis breaker also offers improved mechanical endurance. Vacuum technology replaces SF6 gas and thus reduces risk to the environment. More operations are also possible with the Evolis breaker due to a more robust design. It offers improved mechanical endurance and better availability of spare parts going forwards. Evolis vacuum technology offers high mechanical endurance with a magnetic field that is generated by a patented outside coil which surrounds the contact area. It is a simplified and therefore reliable vacuum interrupter unit with the advantage of heavy-duty contacts which do not distort under repeated switching operations. It is a proven technology which has been used for over 10 years in hundreds of thousands of installations. The Evolis circuit breaker stand-alone is certified for 10,000 operations as defined in IEC 600562M2, and when used in the withdrawal, will move in portion with its mechanical and electrical interfaces used for isolation and earthing of the HV circuit, it is certified for 2,000 operations.
