ROSE “No, don't you dare!” I threaten as my boyfriend walks toward me with a paintbrush in his hands. “Oh, I dare,” he smirks and wraps his arms around me while smearing paint all over my face. I struggle to get out of his grip but he's too strong. He picks me up and I start to kick, trying to loosen his grip around me. Love is a bitch by TwoFeet plays on the speaker. “Let me go. Let me go. Chris, stop!” “No, baby girl. I'm gonna mess you real good.” He comes in again, threatening me with the paintbrush but then, Ian Miles— my bodyguard—interrupts us. “Sir, you have a phone call.” Chris lets me go and grabs his phone.  I already miss his warmth. Let's admit it, ladies. Occasionally, we say no but deep down, we want it. Even though, we might not admit it. I glare at him and warn, “This is not over.” He exchanges the gesture with a mischievous smile and I roll my eyes playfully letting out a small giggle. God, I love this man! He answers the call while caressing my face with the other hand. “We'll finish the painting later. ” My body feels alive under his cold touch. I engulf myself in his gaze which is darkened by desire. He kisses me on my forehead before walking to the tap. He rinses his hands while holding the phone to his ear, and winks before he disappears out the door.  I'm now left alone with Ian. I didn't want a bodyguard but Chris insisted that I should have one since he is a rich businessman and he's hardly at home. He's either at work or on a business trip in another state. I gaze at the canvas. The beautiful sunset that I have drawn and the incomplete stick-figure trees that sway in the light breeze which was drawn by Christopher Whites. I dab the brush in some white paint and then pink paint, mixing it up. I draw some petals to create some flowers in the field. We've been living together for 2 years now and have known each other for 3 years, but I'm still madly in love with him like it's the first time all over again. It's just so tough to have Ian go wherever I go and I need my privacy and space. I mean, I'm a grown-ass woman who knows how to look after herself. He's been my bodyguard since last year but sometimes, it's hard to totally be comfortable with something so new to you. He's just standing next to me probably waiting to be dismissed. I give him a small smile and make my way upstairs a little relieved to see him not following me. I really need to wash this paint out of my face and hands. When I told Chris that this is not over, I mean that this is not over. *********************************** The next day, I wake up and look at my alarm seeing that it is 9 a.m. Chris probably left for work already, he always leaves before I can wake up. I sleep for long hours as I don't really have anything to do. I'm an actress but didn't act for nearly a year now. I'm having my break and we already have so much money. Besides, Chris wouldn't be at ease if I go to work. He's a little protective over me. I stretch out the sleep as I lazily stroll to my bathroom. I freshen up and dress into my favorite dress-top before I make my way downstairs. I see my bodyguard standing outside next to the gate, alert and standing in an attempt to look intimidating. My gaze shifts from him to the remote that I find thrown onto the couch. I switch the TV on. I wonder what time he wakes up? He's always up and about. I proceed to the kitchen, continuing to make myself some breakfast.  I scoop the egg from the frying pan into my plate and I fry some bacon. The bacon is sizzling in the pan as I carefully plop it into my plate. I bite into it and rip off a piece with my teeth. Oh Gosh, this is so delicious! Breakfast is the best time of the day. I'm about to take another bite but then I get a call from my friend, Christine. I wipe my hand and I answer. “Hey, Rose. How are you doing?” “I'm doing great and how are you?” I ask. “I'm good. What do you have planned for later on?” she asks. Wow. Straight to the point, I guess. I smile to myself and answer, “Oh I got a big date with my triple decor chocolate dessert later on.” I take a glance at the TV where the sound is blaring from and I turn around, switching the stove off. She chuckles. “Well, whenever you're done joking around, I have this party later on at 8 tonight. I'm hoping you can join?”She asks timidly. Well, I don't have anything important planned anyway and Chris won't be at home either so I guess I'll go. “Yeah, I'll definitely be there,” I answer while taking a sip of my coffee, hissing as I burn my lip and tongue with the hot drink. Shit! I tell her goodbye and cut the call, sticking my tongue out to cool down. Christine is a good friend of mine, I actually met Chris through Christine. She made me go on a blind date with him and that's when we started seeing each other more often and we both confessed our feelings for one another. After a year, I decided to move in with him. The best decision of my life. I drown in my own thoughts for a few minutes before I snap back to reality. Oh right, I have to pick my outfit for tonight right now so I don't get stuck later on because it takes me a lengthy amount of time to find my outfits. I enjoy my breakfast first before heading to my room. After hours of trying on multiple dresses,   im brought down to two choices. I can't decide between this red cocktail dress which stops right above my knee, accentuating my slender legs, or this black long dress with slits at the side and a v-shape neckline that I'm wearing. I twirl in front of the mirror and face my back towards the mirror, twisting my head back so I can have a better view of the black dress. I bite on my bottom lip, brooding. I glimpse down at my dress and look back up at the mirror noticing Ian at the door staring at me with a look in his eyes I can't explain. He clears his throat and asserts, “Ma'am, Sir said that he is coming home early to pick up some files.” I smile and nod. Chris tends to forget about his files regularly. I reach back, struggling to zip up my dress. I groan at my failure. An arrow of thought instantly shoots me. Maybe he can help me by zipping up my dress. I don't think twice before asking him. “Ian, can you please help me by zipping up my dress ?” He steps towards me and slowly zips up my dress. His fingers brush against my skin and I get this tingling feeling in my stomach. Was it butterflies? I look up noticing he's about 5 feet tall. He looks down upon me with his piercing blue eyes. He has a prominent jawline with a small beard which I find attractive. He gazes down at me with mysterious eyes and I catch him taking a glance at my lips. I do the same and I wonder how his lips feel on mine and.....I avert my eyes and shake off the thought. What the hell was I thinking? “Baby, you look incredible,” Christopher points out while walking into our room. I'm a little shaken by his sudden appearance but recover quickly and smile. Ian backs away from me and places his both hands behind his back. “Where are you going looking like a sexy treat?” he presses. “I got a party to attend later on, babe. You're not going to be at home anyway so I thought it would be a good idea to attend.” A smile tugs at my heart as he walks towards me, I wrap my arms around his neck, and he kisses me deeply and passionately. He holds my waist, hungry for me. I then feel eyes on us and then remember that Ian is still in the room. “Good choice. Wear this one. Oh, and Ian, don't let her out of your sight. There's a lot of hungry wolves out there and this baby right here, belongs to me and only I get to taste her.” He nibbles on my ear with his teeth and  his breath sends chills down to my thighs. I roll my eyes at his words. “Yes sir,” Ian says. “I'll be alright, Chris. I know how to take care of myself,” I protest but Chris grins and plants a kiss on my forehead. “I know, baby girl, but this is for your safety, okay. I have to go back to work now. Love you,” he says. Before I can answer, he leaves my room and after a few minutes, I hear a door close from downstairs. I glare at Ian and I walk toward him. “I don't need a babysitter, okay, so you don't have to watch my every move at the party tonight.” He locks his eyes with mine and I see his jaw flexing. “Yes, ma'am, but I have to adhere to my boss's instructions. He did tell me to keep an eye on you but I will make sure that I don't ruin your party for you and, you might need help unzipping that dress,” he answers, pointing to the dress that I'm wearing, and walks towards me. I gulp as he turns my back towards him and unzips my dress slowly. “You're welcome” he taunts. I'm flustered. What? Is he giving me attitude? Where did this audacious behavior come from? I want to say so much to him and I open my mouth to spit out the words that are caught in my throat but before I can say anything, he walks straight out of my room nonchalantly. What the hell? I understand that his hired by Christopher, but at the end of the day, his hired for me. He should respect my decision too. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 Author's note Hey everybody!
