When a moon is positive on the birth chart, the person feels pleasure and satisfaction. Individuals feel nourished in their deepest emotional needs. But when the Moon is negative, the person thinks that is not being loved and a feeling of dissatisfaction and lack of affection (feel rejected) can accompany them in various stages of life. The psychological effect of this tissue is that of satisfaction and pleasure. Furthermore, the function of breastfeeding is directly associated with this Rasa tissue in its role as "upadhatu" or secondary tissue and is called stanya. The Sanskrit name of the Moon, as we read in the words of Lord Krishna, is Soma, which is actually the name of the Moon God. In Vedic Astrology it is taught that this Moon Deity, Soma, rules over a lunar constellation called Mrigashira, a mansion having one part in the sign of Taurus and the other in the sign of Gemini. In his book "Shakti of the Nakshatras", Dr. David Frawley mentions that the power of Mrigashira and his Soma Deity is the power called Prinana Shakti, the power to nourish and satisfy. Now, when we study the psychological state that the Rasa tissue manifests in people's lives, we find in the Vedic texts that the same word Prinana is used, that is, the psychological state of feeling nourishment and satisfaction. Therefore Moon, Soma, Prinana and Rasa are completely connected. Rasa can also be translated as taste, mellow in the sense of pleasure, love. The function of the Rasa Dhatu is Prinana, which means nutrition. But from another angle, this word is derived from the Sanskrit root “Pri”, which means love or romantic love. Priya or Priyate means "love", as in the expression: "Priti Purvakam", used by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita referring to those who worship Him with "love". Thus, Rasa or pleasure, taste, sweetness, mellow… several meanings to this Sanskrit word indicating not only a nutrition of the first physiological tissue of the body, but in every sense, it indicates an emotional satisfaction. And the authors of Ayurveda describe this emotional love associated with Rasa Dhatu as being unstable. It depends, as Dr. Robert Svoboda comments, on the “food” that is received. The Moon receives, she reflects the light she receives. If it doesn’t receive light or love the Moon cannot reflect this affectivity. In the ancient Vedic text called Purusha Shukta it is described that the Moon is born from the mind of the Cosmic Man (Chandrama Manaso Jatah).
