A few days ago I was going to a coffee shop. It was early in the morning and on my way there I saw people running. I followed the race for a few blocks. I felt the energy. I saw random people on the sidewalk waving to the runners. I think it was a good way to start the Sunday. At the coffee shop I looked for some information about that race and I found out, actually, that it was a half marathon. Since I've been running 5k, I keep wondering about one day being able to run 21k or maybe 42k. From this day on, I have set a small goal for myself, even though it is a challenge. I would like to be capable of running 10k at a fast pace, that means run 10k in less than 1 hour, at least. For this challenge, I'm currently following a jogging routine that I found on the internet. It's 29 days of training, not in a row, but 3 runs per week, for a total of three months of training. The first run is like a 5k running with intervals. but as it goes along, the run increases the distance and reduces the intervals. After 29 jogging workouts, I should be able to run 10k non-stop. I'm on day 7 of this run training, so far so good. This morning I ran 6k at a pace of 6' and I did two intervals of 1 minute each. I noticed that my breathing during the run is improving and I felt my legs are strong. this is definitely helping a lot. Nevertheless, running long distances requires a lot of focus to keep my anxiety at bay and endure all the long runs.
