Welcome to the church of Pentecost audio devotional. It’s the Tuesday, July 19, 2022 edition. Topic: The Power Of Vision. Scripture References: Habakkuk chapter 2 verse 2 to 3, Isaiah chapter 51 verse 1 to 3. Exposition: One of the lessons to be emulated from business and financial giants is the Power of Vision. A vision is a mental picture of a preferable future. The life of Abraham is an example of the power of vision. God gave Abraham a grand vision of his many descendants, even while he was childless. Abraham was visionary. A visionary sees bigger than the current situation, and that drives belief and tenacity irrespective of the field they venture into. They have a firm assurance that what their hearts have conceived, their eyes would see. Hence, if things are not going as they expect, they don’t give up. They understand that every setback is an opportunity to re-strategize for a comeback. Habakkuk chapter 2 verse 2 to 3 admonishes that we make plain the vision, so that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come. Praise the Lord! Another outline of the power of vision can be drawn from the life of John D. Rockefeller, an American business magnate broadly viewed as the wealthiest in modern history. Early in his teens, Rockefeller was very much engaged in his church and was inspired to get rich to fund the Kingdom. Even while he was still an assistant bookkeeper, Rockefeller had a grand vision of becoming a great businessman. As indicated by his biographer, he was continually “getting ready for something big.” We have no excuse to dream big and have a vision. It does not matter where you find yourself today, there is a tomorrow God has prepared for you. Can you see it? Can you dream it? Does it drive you to do more? Pray and seek God regarding the vision and work towards it; set goals in the direction of the vision. God is ready to do what He alone can do in your life. Hey brother, hey sister, let your dream and vision drive you. What you see is what you will move towards. Prayer Guide: Father, give me a Godly vision and help me to live by it. Amen. Our Memory Verse For This Week: Hebrews chapter 6 verse 12: “that you do not become sluggish but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Let’s go over it again: Hebrews chapter 6 verse 12: “that you do not become sluggish but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Thank you for listening. Do have a blessed day!
