Hi! My name is Mudassirr. I am recording this sample for the audition of the book "Andy Pershing and the Seven Wonders Warriors: The Lincoln Legacy" by "Bert Ballou". THE NEXT DAY, SCOTTY, EDITH, and Amber were crowded around Edith’s laptop in their favourite booth at Joy’s café. Andy dumped the trash and placed the empty trays on the drop-off station. He glanced over at his friends, engrossed in Edith’s laptop. He took two AIM tablets and popped them in his mouth. “That was nice of your dad to give you the rest of the week off,” said Edith as Andy sat down. Andy nodded in agreement as he slurped his drink. Scotty pointed and said, “I haven’t seen that necklace before. Where did you get it?” Andy looked down at the silver palm leaf coin hanging around his neck. The images of last night’s dream came rushing back as Andy remembered his conversation with the goddess of victory. He couldn’t wait to tell his three best friends about his dream. “Nike,” Andy replied. “When did you have time to go to the shoe store?” asked Amber. “Not that Nike.” Andy grinned. He plunged right in, not missing a beat. Scotty beamed when he told them about the part where Nike was impressed that Andy knew there were two famous statues of David. “I’d say that was more than a dream,” said Edith. “Can I see your coin?” Andy took off his necklace and passed it to Edith. Scotty and Amber crowded closer to Edith to get a better look. “It’s heavier than I thought,” Edith said, gingerly rubbing the coin with her thumb and forefinger. “It sure seems authentic.” Amber took the coin from Edith. “The craftsmanship is some of the best I’ve ever seen. This cord is actually three smaller cords braided together, probably leather.” “My turn.” Scotty held out his hand. When Amber gave him the coin, he examined it slowly and carefully. “My best friend has a dream about a mythological lady and gets an antique coin to keep. How come this doesn’t happen to me?” “You always lose things,” said Edith bluntly. “I do not!” Scotty retorted. “Dude, you couldn’t even keep the toy that came with a box of cereal!” Andy laughed.
