So Into You Audition I turned and headed to the living room. “I need a drink,” I announced leaving everyone else where they stood. I went over to the wet bar and grabbed the bottle of Blanton’s bourbon and a glass. I placed a couple cubes of ice in the glass and filled half of the glass with the bourbon. I drank the contents of the glass until it was empty. The burning sensation of the brown liquid going down my throat felt bad but good at the same time. I poured myself another glass and was putting the glass to my lips when it was taken out of my hands. “Nah, sweetheart. We’re not going to drown our issues with liquor,” Jason said before tossing the glass back and drinking the contents. He hissed at the burning sensation. I pulled him by his shirt then sucked on his lips. The taste of the bourbon on his lips had my girly parts stirred. I sucked his tongue into my mouth and latched on it. He pulled me closer into him and I could feel his hard steel pressing against my belly. My panties became soaked. “Um, I’m gonna need y’all to take that shit upstairs,” Joshua said. “Break that shit up. Shid, I need to hire you to be my assistant since the heifer seems to be M.I.A.,” Josh said. He handed the phone back to Jynx. “Can you send it to them?” “Sure.” She took the phone back and pecked on the screen a couple of times. “What’s the email address?” she asked. “Send it to my email, [email protected].” Martin spoke. I looked over at him. He still looked perplexed at the bomb that was dropped. Hearing his side of the story, I couldn’t be mad at him. It’s obvious he had no clue he was my father until after the fact. However, I was still feeling some type of way he didn’t try to have a relationship with me, regardless of what my momma said. “Aiight, I just sent it. Check your email,” Jynx told Martin. He pulled out his phone and went through it. He pecked on it the same way Jynx had done on Josh’s phone before nodding his head. “I got it.” “Good. Just so y’all know, I will be working from here tomorrow. I won’t be going into the office until probably next week. Someone is gonna have to go to my crib and get some clothes, my computer, and files out of my office for me,” Josh said. “They confiscated your computer and files when they conducted a search of you house. They had a search warrant to go in. I have a copy of everything taken. Tomorrow or the day after I can either call or come by so we can go over everything,” Briggs said. “Let’s do it tomorrow. It’s a good thing I keep a backup for shit like that.” He looked over at Jynx. “Aye, I need you here tomorrow morning at seven. We got a lot of shit to do.” I held my breath waiting for Jynx to go off on Josh for bossing her around. One thing Jynx didn’t like was a man who tried to control her and tell her what to do. She didn’t disappoint me either. “Aye? First of all, my name is Jynx, not aye.” She waved her hand to silence him. “Second, you don’t tell me what to do. You can ask me, and if it is something I don’t mind doing, I will. I’m not sure how you handled your assistant, but if you’re expecting or wanting me to fill in, you best to get your mind and words right coming at me like that.” She tossed his phone she was still holding into his lap. “Damn, I just fell in love,” Josh smiled a Cheshire cat smile. We all fell out laughing at him. Jynx couldn’t help but to laugh, too. “Jynx, will you please fill in as my assistant and be here at seven tomorrow morning?” “Yes, I will. See, that wasn’t so hard,” she teased him. “Nah, but I got something else hard for you,” he teased her back. “Okay, goodnight, everyone,” Briggs said. We all laughed at his sudden departure. “Let me see you out,” Jason said leaving the living room to catch up to Briggs. “Akeeba, can we set up a time for us to talk?” Martin walked over and asked me. “Um, sure. I’ll have Jason reach out to you with the details.” “Okay, okay. Good. Thanks, and goodnight,” he smiled. “Goodnight.” “Yo, thanks for today, Martin,” Josh stood and gave Martin a handshake. “No worries. You are in good hands with Briggs and me,” Martin told him. “I have no doubt.” Martin waved as he made his exit. I went back over to the bar and fixed myself another drink. I went to drink it when that one was pulled out of my hand. I swung around and was about to go off. “Bitch don’t curse me out,” Jynx smirked. “The fuck I won’t.” I grabbed another glass and poured some more bourbon in the glass. She held her glass up. “To pushing forward towards the good things that awaits us and leaving behind the bad things that halted us,” Jynx toasted. We clinked glasses then tossed the bourbon back. “Oh, so y’all getting it in without us?” Jason asked as he and Joshua stepped back into the living room. “Yep. This was me and my gurl’s moment,” Jynx replied. “Jynx, you may as well spend the night here, unless you have to go home. Plus, I don’t want you driving after you’ve been drinking,” Jason suggested. “Let me call and check on my daughter. I know she’s good because she’s with my mom, but I want to tell her good night.” “How old is your daughter?” Joshua asked. “Layla will be six in a couple of months, but she acts like she’s twenty-six,” Jynx shook her head. “But yeah, that’s my baby.” “My niece is adorable, too,” I bragged. “Yall been friends a long time, huh?” Josh asked. “Five years now,” Jynx and I said in unison. “That’s what’s up,” Josh nodded his head. I yawned and stretched my body, causing my shirt to lift slightly and Jason moaned. I peered over at him, and I saw that sex look in his eyes. My nipples immediately hardened. I moved across the room towards Jason, feeling that magnetic pull we had in each other’s presence. Our eyes remained on each other, and when I was standing in front of him, Jason wasted no time lifting me in his arms. My legs wrapped around his waist at the same time my arms wrapped around the back of his neck.
