Start IT for local assistants. Now, let's dive into topic number one of the induction training, which is your EP account, the digital portal to the EP space. To facilitate collaboration within their cabinets, MEPs can request access to the Parliament’s ICT systems for up to 2 local assistants.  This includes for the duration of their's contract:  a nominative EP account, a personal email account, and access to some EP applications. So let's look closely, what is your EP account actually? It is an account consisting of a user, and a password, that gives you secure access, to the internal network of the EP. Be aware, that your credentials are personal, and you should never share them with other people. For improved security, you will also receive one SMS token, used for confirming your identity, when accessing the EP systems, from outside the parliament. The SMS token is sent to your mobile phone on demand and includes the security code that you will need. Going to your email account you can see that the format is name.surname followed by @europarl.europa.eu. And having those credentials gives you access to some apps, which includes the EP Webmail, the EP Intranet, the VDI, and the Members Collaborative Spaces.
