Hi! I’m Gianna, I’m 30 years old. I was born in East Java. Before I take this any further, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude for this wonderful opportunity to introduce myself. Now, for the next 2-3 minutes, I’m going to be sharing more about myself & what made me decide to apply as an online English teacher. For starters, if I should characterize myself with 3 words only, I’d pick open-mindedness, integrity and commitment. That’s true about both my personal and professional life. I’m interested in many things including cultures, psychology and foreign languages. Back in 2014, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and English for Business Communication with honors. I also completed an accredited TESOL/TEFL certificate from World TESOL Academy which is based in the UK. I’ve over 8 years of working experience in several different industries under my belt including, but not limited to, aviation, hospitality/tourism and legal/consulting. The first reason why I am applying for this job is because I’ve always wanted to have a job with a meaningful purpose. Having spent many years working in different lines of business, I realized that the direction I have always wanted to go in is actually teaching. Some people say teachers are at the heart of everything. Teachers help inspire and educate people. And that’s exactly what I’m aiming to do! Teaching English will allow me to contribute and make an impact in this world through helping students understand the world better and turn their dreams into international opportunities. I'll also get to see the outcomes of my dedication every day which would be so rewarding! That brings me to the second reason. For the past year, I have been gearing myself up for a professional teaching role. So as soon as I heard about the opportunity to get my first real teaching job at EF, I didn’t think twice to jump right into it! I’ve heard so much about EF, the leadership and management of the institution. What you try to do here with the students and teachers resonates with my values and with the way I’d characterize great education. It’d be a privilege to teach there! Oh look at that!
