Take a moment to ground yourself. Feel the sensation of where you’re sitting or what you’re laying down on. Take a deep breath in through your nose when you are ready. And slowly exhale through your mouth. Deep breath in. And out. Deep breath in. And out. Now gently return to the normal rhythm and flow of your breath. Closing your eyes, imagine a ballon in front of you. As you breath in the balloon inflates and as you breathe out, it deflates. Take a moment to notice the rise and fall of the balloon. Now picture the balloon gently changing colour as each breath takes place. A warm orange to a bright yellow and back to orange. Then back to yellow. As this balloon is gently floating in and out of these colours, I want you to say these words in your thoughts. I am safe, I am calm and I am worthy. I am safe, I am calm and I am worthy. Now put your hands on your belly and feel the rise and fall as each breath comes in and goes out. Imagine the balloon is now there. Rising and falling, rising and falling. I am safe, I am calm and I am worthy. I am safe, I am calm and I am worthy. Gently bring your awareness to the cushions, mattress or seat that is supporting you right now. Feel how it’s supporting you either lying down or sitting up. Take a deep breath in. And slowly exhale. In and out. In and out. Now repeat the phrases again, I am safe, I am calm and I am worthy.
