Welcome to the Church of Pentecost audio devotional. It’s the Wednesday, July 13, 2022 edition. Topic: Abounding In Knowledge And Wisdom. Scripture References: Proverbs chapter 24 verse 3 to 5; Proverbs chapter 8 verse 10 to 11. Exposition: Knowledge, they say, is power. This is true as today’s scripture readings exhort us to choose knowledge and wisdom above rubies, silver and gold. Even though these items are very precious, the Bible says that they cannot be compared to knowledge and wisdom. Thus, wealth without wisdom is a loss. Proverbs chapter 24 verse 4 to 5 reads: “By knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong, yes, a man with knowledge increases strength.” This means that Knowledge can make one wealthy and grow in strength. Knowledge and wisdom work together to achieve results. One can mess up when you have knowledge without wisdom. Proverbs chapter 2 verse 6 says, “For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding”. Let us depend on God to endow us with these virtues. Knowledge is defined as the information, skills and understanding that you have gained through learning or experience. Wisdom, on the other hand, is defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as the ability to discern inner qualities and relationship or having a good sense of judgement. We are encouraged to abound in seeking the right information, skill and understanding as they are very prominent in life. Someone can rob you of your personal belongings and wealth, but can never rob you of your knowledge. If you have got the opportunity to be educated formally or informally, take it very seriously and learn more. Also seek God’s wisdom to apply your knowledge. Prayer Guide: Lord, I depend on you for knowledge and wisdom. Our Memory Verse For This Week: Second Timothy chapter 2 verse 15: Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Let’s go over it again: Second Timothy chapter 2 verse 15: Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Thank you for listening. Do have a blessed day!
