Welcome to the church of Pentecost audio devotional. It’s the Tuesday, July 12, 2022 edition. Topic: Put God First In Your Studies. Scripture References: Proverbs chapter 1 verse 1 to 7; James 3 verse 17. Exposition: In life, everything we do that is hinged on God becomes very successful. Today’s passages of scripture teach us to put God first in our studies. We must let God take His rightful position in our academic life as well. Proverbs chapter 1 verse 7 teaches us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. This means that if we want to acquire knowledge to impact others, it starts from fearing God and living as He expects us to live. From James 3 verse 17, we learn that the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. This means that divine knowledge or wisdom is fruitful and very impactful. Sometimes, some students think that they went to school to learn and nothing more. Do not put God aside and think that you have gone to school only to learn. The truth is that you cannot ignore God and succeed. Our battle in this life is not against flesh and blood. Let God occupy the first position in your life and all other things will fall in place as admonished in Matthew chapter 6 verse 33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Prayer Guide: Lord, I give you the first place in my life. Have your own way. Our Memory Verse For This Week: Second Timothy chapter 2 verse 15: Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Let’s go over it again: Second Timothy chapter 2 verse 15: Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Thank you for listening. Do have a blessed day!
