Do you wear some colors but not others? Did you know that the colors you wear change how you feel? When I wear this Hawaiian shirt, people think it's funny and they think I'm happy. Why? Because these colors are very bright. I don't look bored or angry, do I? No! This is the shirt of a happy man. Let's look at the colors of uniforms, or clothes that people wear to do special jobs. In some jobs, workers wear uniforms of the same colors. Doctors wear white because it looks clean and makes us feel healthy! Firefighters wear orange or yellow on their uniforms so it's easy to see them. Police in the U.S. wear blue and, in many jobs, workers wear colors of the company, like at a fast-food restaurant. How do you choose what colors to wear? When you're feeling angry, do you wear red or black? Does purple make you feel excited and important? Scientists say that some colors can change how you feel! When you wear red, it can make you look exciting and interesting. People wear black when they're sad or want to go to an evening party. And people don't wear orange often, but it's sometimes a popular color for sports uniforms. In India and Nepal, there is a spring festival called Holi. It's the festival of colors! For two days, people dress in many colors. They paint their faces and bodies, and use paint all over buildings in cities. Everything looks beautiful!
