This cell analogy will be on an animal cell and a house. The cell organelles I will be comparing with the aspects of a house are the cell membrane, Mitochondria, Lysosome, Golgi Apparatus, cytoplasm, and peroxisome. The first organelle I’m comparing is the cell membrane and it is like the foyer/door of a house. Both of these control what gets in or out of the house and cell. The second organelle is the mitochondria and it is like the kitchen. This is where the energy for the house is produced using outside resources just like the mitochondria does in a cell. The third organelle is the lysosome and it is like the bathroom. They both rid the house and cell of waste. The fourth organelle is the golgi apparatus and it is like the living room. This organelle has many functions but one of its purposes is to sort out where proteins go, both the living room and the golgi apparatus are important areas to go before you get to your final destination in the house and in the cell. The fifth organelle is cytoplasm and it is like the hallways/supporting walls. They are both similar because they keep everything in place and they are what you move through to get to your destination. The sixth organelle is the peroxisome and its like the people in a house. The peroxisome is a vital part of maintaining homeostasis and the metabolism in the cell, both the peroxisome and the people in a house maintain the house/cell and make sure it is in good condition. Both the cell and the house can theoretically survive without peroxisome and people perspectively but they are much more vulnerable without them.
