To install the newest Type Easy software, just navigate to your typist personal page and log in. Scroll down the page to where you see ‘external links’. There, you will find the link to download type easy. Just click the link and the program will immediately begin installing in the background. If you have a previous version of type easy installed on your computer, you do not need to delete it before installing this version. You may see the progress bar in your internet browser. You can just click on the downloaded icon to open the program, but first, let’s look at how to pin the program to your desktop so you can find it easily next time. Just open your file explorer. Navigate to downloads. There, you will see the type easy program. You can either drag this file over to your desktop so that it will always be on your desktop home screen, or, you can right click the file, and choose “Pin to taskbar”. This keep your program around the bottom bar so you can access it any time. Once you have the type easy program in an easily accessible location, just double click the typewriter icon. Depending on your computer’s settings, you may see a screen that says “Windows Protected your PC”. If you do see this, just click “more info”. You will then be able to click the box to ‘run anyway’. This is just your computer making sure that you do intend to run this program. Don’t worry…. It is safe. Once you open the program, you will see a box to enter your username (your email) and your password. We recommend that you click the ‘remember me’ box so that the program will remember your credentials each time.
