Welcome to this short promotional video of IAEA PC-based basic priniciple sodium fast reactor simulator The SFR is a pool-type sodium cooled fast reactor and is designed to generate 880 MW of electrical power. The reactor, coolant pumps, intermediate heat exchangers and associated piping are all located in a common liquid sodium pool. Sodium coolant circulates in 3 independent primary and intermediate circuits. Each loop comprises a primary sodium pump, two intermediate heat exchangers, an intermediate sodium pump and an emergency pressure discharge tank. Water and steam flow in the secondary circuits. The simulator is intended only for education and training purposes, and cannot be used for safety analysis or detailed research and development.
