Documenting male Allosaurus, Livius . . . A juvenile allosaur is seen away from his family and running about, chasing a Didelphodon around, his predatory instinct and drive to hunt is beginning to bloom. After a few clumbsy attempts he finally manages to catch the lil critter. Proud of his accomplishment, he carries his meal in his mouth and begins to wander. Realizing his unfamiliar surroundings, he starts to frantically search for his family, however his parents had left, along with his siblings; he had been abandoned. This is where Livius' story begins... After days of crying out for his parents he eventually gave up, accepting what has happened, he would soon settle into his new life of solitude. When night falls, little Livius would rest in some thick bushes, enough cover to hide and shelter him from the elements. And as the sun rose, so did Livius, slowly waking up, he greets the morning sun with a big yawn. Countless days and nights would pass, and he had now grown into a healthy adolescent, his crest beginning to brighten. These little critters were becoming mere snacks for this fast growing male, and soon Livius had no choice but to venture off in hopes of finding something more filling. It wouldn't be long until a sudden scent had his head turning. food. He chased the scent and soon enough stumbled upon a large rotting carcass, this was more than enough to keep Livius filled for a few days and with the large lake nearby, this would make the perfect new home for him. Now a sub-adult, Livius' crest was becoming more vibrant with color, his playful and clumbsy personality began to shift, becoming more quiet and nervous. Living life alone was rough but also had its rewards, one of them being able to have all the food to himself, because food was so plentiful, this would result in him growing up larger and bulkier than most allosaurs but also abit chubby and slow. Livius may not have been the most colorful of males, only having his bright crest to signify his maturity, the only thing holding him back from throwing his weight around was his skittish and shy personality. Instinct would now drive this male out of his home, in search of a new territory but most importantly, a female. His journey was long, but eventually he would stop at the edge of another allosaurs territory, he was unsure what to do but the scent of a female nearby would quickly usher him onwards. As he crossed over the hill he saw the female, but sat by her side was her mate, the pair instantly spotted Livius trespass into their territory and began chase. Loud hisses and threatening roars echoed throughout the fields, Livius was too slow and the pair of agile allosaurs caught up to him with ease. The male of the pair engaged first, sharp teeth slashed into the young males hide, Livius came to a halt having no choice but to fight back. His large size helped him shake his opponent off, and he countered his attacks with his own, slashing at the males face and returning devastating bites. Due to Livius's slow movements, this left an opening for the female to engage on him, she was fast and landed many grievous wounds on him. He did not want to hurt the female but it was now life or death, and he was not ready to go down. A swift swipe of his tail knocked the female back and as he did with the male, he did to her, using his heavy weight to aid him, he pushed her away. Eventually the pair would back off, assessing the situation at hand and coming to realize this hefty lone allosaur was not going down easily. In this brief moment of pause, Livius decided to take control over the fight and began charging the pair, this startled them and the female submitted, crying out loudly and retreating. Livius's attention now locked onto the male, having full intent to kill her pair and hopefully take his place as her mate. Just before Livius got to the male, he cried out, also surrendering the fight and fleeing. For the first time Livius was filled with adrenaline and confidence over his victory, he let out a loud and ear piercing roar. He turned to the wounded female, slowly making his way towards her with soft coo's of reassurance. He was inexperienced when it came to this kind of thing and this was definitely not the time for flirting, he knew the chances of her accepting him was slim but it was worth a shot. Noticing his advances, the other male would rush over and threaten him away from her, Livius was no longer interested in fighting, bleeding heavily and wounds needed tending to, so after a quick glance at each other Livius would turn and leave.
