A little more than two years after the start of the work, the Dogta Lafieh Hospital has come out of the ground. A high standard of level four intended to offer quality care equal to international standards. The work is in the finishing stage, but it is already attracting attention with its architecture. The building will be equipped with a large technical platform with services covering communicable and non-communicable diseases, including cancer. Formerly known as Saint Peregrin, the referral hospital is now called Dogta Lafieh, a change of name for several reasons. The construction of the referral hospital is entirely financed from its own funds by the National Social Security Fund. The equipment and operation of the structure are estimated at 25 billion CFA francs, half of which is financed by the institution. Dogta Lafieh wants to be a reference hospital in the sub-region, not only by its services, but also by its innovations. On the six-hectare site that houses the hospital, there is a reserved space for a four-star hotel and a heliport. The new health infrastructure aims to accommodate up to 80000 people in the first years of its operationalization, or even more over time.
