Diabetic Macular Edema(DME) is a leading cause of blindness, compromising the patients' quality of life. By improving the effectiveness of the Anti-VEGF treatment, we can save millions of lives from deteriorating. With the support of the Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand, the Asia Pacific Tele-Ophthalmology Society hosted the 2021 APTOS Big Data Competition with Alibaba Cloud. The competition focused on building a machine learning model for predicting anti-VEGF treatment outcomes in patients with Diabetic Macular Edema to help ophthalmologists customize treatment plans and ensure timely and effective treatments. Being at the vanguard of AI technology, Alibaba Cloud provided APTOS a platform to conduct the competition as part of their Global AI Innovation Challenge Series 2021. AI technology can predict the severity of DME disease.  Alibaba Cloud intends to bring developers across the world to use their AI platform, build algorithms and solve real-world problems. The presented models at the competition built on Alibaba Cloud's platform could enhance the efficiency of DME diagnosis in tele-ophthalmology programs, promoting better visual outcomes.  Let there be sight, let there be light!
