Prologue Long ago, Dwarfs, Elves, and Crawlins (tiny creatures about two to three feet tall that run very fast), and the Loras (a species that uses the blood of other creatures as their food source and live in the mountains, inhabited the world). These four kings led very different kinds of species with the same goal; to be in control of the world. When war broke out, the Elves knew they could win against the Crawlins, maybe even a battle against the Loras, but the Dwarfs would put up a fight that even the Elves would lose, but all hope was not lost. The King of the Elves at the time decided that he would create a new type of creature so he would not have to risk the lives of his people. He would create a more powerful, dominating race of men. Of course, this would be no simple task. The king would need someone from each race to sacrifice themselves to do it. After much struggle and sacrifice, the Elves finally succeeded, making them the most powerful army and the hardest to defeat. The others had plans of their own. The Crawlins were killed one by one until they joined the Dwarfs creating their allied force. This made it no easier for the Elves until the Lora King approached the Elf King and struck an accord. The Elf King told them to sign a magical contract stating that the Elves and the Loras would not harm each other until the two races rose above the others. Then the battle for world domination between the Dwarf and Crawlin army and the Elf and Lora army came. It was a gruesome and bloody fight, but something happened in the battle that changed history forever: a human in the last row of the army of humans stopped marching. When the Elf king came to ask why he had stopped, the human stabbed the horse the king was riding on, making him fall to the ground. The human punctured the fallen Elf, and as he dragged the corpse across the battlefield, eyes everywhere followed him like moths to light. When he had made it to the front of the Elf army, the Dwarfs saw what he had done to the king lying there. The king of the Dwarfs lowered into a deep bow, and the rest were quick to follow. After he saw every Dwarf bow to him, he turned around and saw that the Elves and the Loras had done so too. A Dwarf then shouted in the distance, “behold the new king of all beings, and may his reign go on forever.” This human, now a king, was extensively worshiped, but he wanted a safer place for his people to live because the land they stood on was either cooled molten lava or active magma. —a pit of the vibrant flame. So, the king planned a journey to find a new home; they traveled for seven days and seven nights before finding the lushest green place they had ever seen. He then took the name Pellace and became the king of The Dystopian Evergreen. But this story is not about him, it is about a boy, born a few hundred years later, and this boy's name was Lukas Pellace, and this is his story…
