In contemporary cities, where children are discouraged from moving freely, being outdoors and therefore increasingly detached from their natural surroundings, The Caring Mile aims to create a new ground floor where urban children can reconnect with nature. An environment where they are free to move, which they take care of, from which they learn. The project adopts the Butterfly Mile – a collaborative pact for the care and regeneration of Corso Lodi with the aim of enriching its biodiversity – and gives it to children. The project results in the redesign of the mile, through the enrichment of vegetation, the introduction of the water element and the design of some corners.
