I am going to start my pre-trip inspection by checking my HOSES. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. There are no abrasions, bulges, or cuts. And they are Not Leaking. Next, I am going to check my WIRES making sure they are properly mounted and secure Not ripped, torn, or frayed. There are No exposed wires and No signs of corrosion. Next, I am going to check the BELT DRIVEN ALTERNATOR. Making sure it is properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken, And there are No signs of corrosion. Next, I am going to check the BELT DRIVEN WATER PUMP Making sure it is properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and Not leaking. Next, I am going to check the SERPENTINE BELTS. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. They are not ripped, torn, or frayed, and there is No more than three-fourths of an inch play when pulled. I’m going to check my HOSES&WHIRES as I did on the passenger side. Next I am going to check the COOLANT RESERVOIR. Making sure it is properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. And it is Not leaking. IF I want to check the level I would Check it here and If I want to fill it I will fill it here I would Never fill it when the truck is running or the engine is hot. Next, I am going to check the OIL FILL PORT and OIL DIP STICK. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and they are not leaking. If I need to check the level, I would check it here if I need to fill it I would fill it here. Next I am going to check the GEAR DRIVEN AIR COMPRESSOR & GEAR DRIVEN POWER STEERING PUMP. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. They are not leaking. Next I am going to check the POWER STEERING RESERVOIR. Making sure it is properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. And it is not leaking. If I need to check the level, I would check it here. If I need to fill it, I would fill it here. Next I am going to check the STEERING SHAFT. Making sure it is properly mounted and secure. And there are no more than 10 inches in either direction. Next I am going to check the POWER STEERING GEAR BOX. Make sure it is properly mounted and secure with nuts and bolts to the frame of the truck. Not cracked, bent, or broken and Not leaking. Next, I am going to check the steering components: The PITMAN ARM, DRAG LINK, STEERING ARM, STEERING KNUCKLE AND TIE ROD. Making sure they are properly mounted and secured with castle nuts and cotter pins. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and properly greased. Next, I am going to check the suspension components. Starting with the LEAF SPRING HANGERS, both front, and back. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and not missing. Next, I am going to check the LEAF SPRINGS. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure at the front and rear. Not cracked bent, or broken, and non-missing. Next, I am going to check the U-BOLTS. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and no signs of slippage. Next, I am going to check the SHOCK ABSORBER. Making sure it is properly mounted and secured at the top and bottom. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and not leaking. Next, I am going to check the brake components. Starting with the BRAKE HOSE making sure it is properly mounted and secure. There are no abrasions, bulges, or cuts, and it is not leaking. Next, I’m going to check the BRAKE CHAMBER. Making sure it is properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and it is not leaking. Next I am going to check the PUSH ROD AND SLACK ADJUSTER. Making sure they are properly mounted and secured with pins and cotter pins. Not cracked, bent, or broken. There can be no more than one inch of play with the brakes disengaged. Next I am going to check the BRAKE DRUM. Making sure it is properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. Smooth on the inside and free from debris. Next I am going to check the BRAKE SHOES. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. There can be no less than one-quarter of an inch of material left. Next I am going to check the INNER HUB SEAL. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and it is not leaking. Next I am going to check the OUTER HUB SEAL. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and it is not leaking. IF I need to check the level, I would check it here by inserting my finger into the hoe, up to the first knuckle. If I need to fill it, I would fill it here. Next I am going to check the BUDD RIM. Making sure it is properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. And, there are no illegal welds. Next, I am going to check the LUG NUTS. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. None are missing. I’m going to look for signs of rust trails or shinny threads which could be an indication of a loss lug nut. Next, I am going to check my VALVE STEM AND CAP, making sure it is properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. And, not leaking. The cap should be in place to prevent debris from getting in. If I wanted to check my pressure, I would check it here with an air gauge. IF I need to fill it, I would fill it here with an air chuck. I can find the manufacturer suggested hot and cold PSI for this tire on the side wall. Next, I am going to check the TIRE. Making sure it is properly mounted and secure. There are no abrasions, bulges, or cuts, and it is not leaking. I am looking for even and smooth tread wear across the foot of the tire. Because it is a steer tire it has to be a virgin tire and can have no less than 4/32 of an inch of tread depth. Next, I am going to check the MIRRORS. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. And, not missing. Next, I am going to check the DOOR. Making sure it opens and closes properly. I am going to check for door sag. If there is door sag it could be an indication of a broken or missing door hinge. Next, I’m going to check the DOOR HINGES. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and non missing. Next, I’m going to check the INNER AND OUTER DOOR SEAL. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not ripped, torn, or frayed, and not leaking. Next, I’m going to check the DRIVER SIDE STAIRS. Making sure they are properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken, and can support my weights as the driver. Next, I’m going to check the FUEL TANK. Making sure it is properly mounted and secure. Not cracked, bent, or broken. And. Not leaking.
