The caregivers are those who take care of a person who is not self-sufficient, this entails changes and new responsibilities on the part of the caregiver, who significantly changes his or her life because he or she is faced with everyday activities which he or she did not have to carry out before, and many aspects of his or her life, by physical and mental health, relationships and finances, are significantly influenced by the role (care) that is to be played so the challenge is to learn to adapt to the new context. There are several elements that influence the adaptation process, for example an important role has the mode of onset of the disease, which can be gradual or sudden. Another element, for example, is the degenerative progression of most of the memory disorders that leads to increasing addictions on the part of the patient that put to the test caregivers, in fact they often manifest depressive symptoms, chronic stress, anxiety or aggression. A discomfort that is accentuated if at the side of the caregiver there is not the right social or family support is in fact one of the reasons why the fragile subject is placed in care facilities. At the medical level, the figure of the caregiver is essential because it represents that precious source of information and impressions that help to understand problems that can escape the short meetings or tests administered during the visits. Therefore, tailor-made social and state interventions are needed to help and support caregivers in the development of assistance adaptation strategies to improve and resolve the care needs of the caregiver.
