How to Make Your First $1,000 as an Affiliate Marketer You’ve probably heard of Affiliate Marketing, but you may be wondering how to get started as an affiliate marketer, or if affiliate marketing can help you at all. The short answer? Yes! You can earn some money by promoting other people’s products or services, and that’s exactly what this free guide will show you how to do! This step-by-step affiliate marketing guide will walk you through the creation of your affiliate business from start to finish, even if you don’t have any experience as an affiliate marketer yet. Introduction The internet is home to countless affiliate marketing opportunities. Many people think affiliate marketing is difficult and complex; however, it’s actually quite simple once you know how. The purpose of today’s post is help you make your first $1,000 from affiliate marketing. Step 1: Sign Up and Set Up Your Account Before you can actually start making money with affiliate marketing, you have to set up your account. There are a lot of programs out there where you can do affiliate marketing, but today we’re going to focus on Clickbank. So go ahead and click on that link and set up your account. They require that you input your first name, last name, email address and a password at minimum. Step 2: Choose your niche If you already have a specific product in mind for your affiliate marketing business (e.g., dog training products), then great! If not, then consider choosing a niche that interests you so that it is easy to come up with content ideas. For example, if you love dogs and plan on using affiliate marketing for dogs as your niche, ask yourself how many different topics are there within dog training? Are there any ways to break apart dog training into subcategories? Step 3: Create Content Once you have a title and description, it’s time to create your content. Keep in mind that these are posts on your website so they must be professional. If there is anything you wouldn’t want your boss or co-workers reading on Monday morning don’t put it in these posts! Step 4: Build a Website and Drive Traffic Hopefully by now you have a basic understanding of how affiliate marketing works. If not, check out my post about it here: How to Start Making Money Online Through Affiliate Marketing . The first thing we need to do is build a website and drive traffic. Now there are 2 ways I want you to do that. The first way is free (and actually has a lot of advantages) and that’s by setting up your own hosting/domain name/web address. Step 5: Promote Products on Social Media Once you’ve created your campaign, it’s time to start promoting. Start by promoting your campaign on Facebook and Twitter. Then start tweeting about it on Twitter. Be sure that you include a link to your campaign and tag @affilorama or use #affilorama so we can retweet your message. Don’t forget to like our Facebook page! Step 6: Improve Product Performance to Increase Conversions This is one of my favorite parts of product management. The term conversion comes from our friends in advertising, and it refers to a visitor becoming a customer or user. Conversions are also referred to in ecommerce as buying behavior or buyer events . Whenever you refer to your users performing some sort of action—whether it’s signing up for your service, making a purchase on your site or downloading one of your products—you’re talking about conversion. Step 7a. Negotiate with Brands for Coupons/Deals Once you’ve identified a few brands that might be good affiliate marketing partners, it’s time to approach them. Unless you have a history with these companies and are part of their affiliate program already, it can be tricky getting a deal signed. If your site has great content and you have a large audience that aligns well with what they offer then don’t be afraid to get in touch with someone or shoot over an email if they have no clear contact information on their website. Step 7b. Sell your own Brand OR Sell Resell Rights Products Sell your own brand/product or sell resell rights products from Clickbank. For example , you can create a course on how to start affiliate marketing and then sell your own brand of that course OR you can buy a product on Clickbank and then re-sell it with your affiliate link attached. This is where I make most of my money because I use Clickbank for all my online businesses! Final Thoughts on this Challenge This is a great question because it’s one that I receive from readers on a very regular basis. More often than not, people are looking for some type of step-by-step blueprint that will teach them how to start earning money with affiliate marketing. The truth is that affiliate marketing takes time and hard work in order to succeed. The secret lies in finding your niche and then committing yourself to becoming a master of it so you can help others become masters too.
