intensity is Schneider Electric’s new flagship building located in Grenoble. It is part of a vast project to reorganize Schneider Electric’s facilities. The aim was to reduce the group’s carbon footprint by choosing environmentally friendly buildings and strengthening collaboration across R&D, Universities, and laboratories. An operating model based on a partnership is now essential to amplify innovation and development. Let me share some practical examples… starting with our newest’ building of the Future.’ intensity is one the most efficient buildings in Europe, if not the world. It is 10x more efficient than average buildings in Europe. It is so efficient that the 4,000 solar panels and 2 wind turbines on the roof are enough to power the entire building, including EV charging. It can also interface with other buildings in the district, storing the renewable energy produced and deferring its consumption for the benefit of neighboring buildings in the event of any peaks in demand. Building intelligence makes it possible to collect 60,000 data points every 2 minutes. This makes intensity a ‘learning building,’ which adapts in real-time to energy consumption, using predictive data for building management and control, space management, energy measurement and control, and energy flexibility for maximum reliability and resiliency.
