Hello everyone, my name is wangmeng, my topic is A comparative study of the narrative art in The Sound and the Fury and Life and Death are Wearing Me Out. The presentation of the research proposal consists of ten parts. . the first part, Introduction 1.Introduction Nowadays, the barriers of international communication are broken, and cultural exchanges are increasingly frequent. Interaction between Chinese and foreign novelists is also becoming more common. Mo Yan admits that the narrative art of his novels is influenced by Faulkner, but his works are also unique. The Sound and the Fury and Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out are respectively Faulkner's and Mo Yan's representative works. Few academic studies have compared the two novels. Through the comparative study of the narrative art of the two novels, it is helpful to explore the cultural factors behind the narrative art of the two novels. part 2.Literature Review For many years, foreign researchers have studied the Sound and the Fury mainly from the aspects of characters, themes and narrative art. Researchers mainly conduct comparative studies on the creation characteristics, narrative art, characters and thoughts in the works of the two writers. part 3.Research Question My Research Question is What are the similarities and differences between the narrative art of The two novels? part 4.Research Purpose The purpose of this study is to determine in what aspects the Sound and the Fury has influenced Life and Death are Wearing Me Out, find out the differences between the 2 novels and analyze the reasons. part 5.The Significance of Study The Significance of Study is to Explore the cultural factors behind the narrative art of the two novels to promote the understanding of Chinese and foreign cultures. part 6.Research methodology I mainly use three methods to study literary texts : text analysis, document analysis and comparative analysis. part 7.Expected Outcomes The Expected Outcomes are to Find out the similarities and differences of narrative artistic techniques in the two novels. For example, the similarities between the two novels are that each part of the novel has a different narrator, the language is vivid and appropriate, and the polyphonic structure is adopted. The differences between the two novels include different narrative sequences, different narrative frequencies and so on. part 8.Proposed Chapter Outline The proposed chapter outline mainly includes the following three parts——one Narrative Structure and Narrative Time two。Narrative Perspective and Narrative Language three。Cultural Factors behind Narrative Art part 9.Proposed timeframe Here's my Proposed timeframe.
