Introduce your organization, its founder, and mission: Musical Harmony, Inc. helps students learn discipline, study skills, communication skills, and how to work effectively in a school environment. Musical Tunes offers access to equipment, support, and self-expression. We create opportunities for young people to learn and use musical melodies, offering a balance between developing technical skills and nurturing creativity. Without our music program, many adolescents would face insurmountable barriers to art education. Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, Musical Harmony, Inc. was founded in 2006 by Harps and Tunes Union, which helps a large population of young people throughout the region's 300 square mile radius. Our mission is to enable educational music making opportunities to encourage low-income children and young people who are unlikely to have access to music education. With more than 50 volunteers and 23 full-time staff assist in Musical Harmony’s daily programs and events through the year. Musical Harmony is open for business 5 days per week throughout the year—we’re closed on all major holidays.
