Tony Robbins' Rapid Planning Method (RPM) is a simple system that teaches you how to plan your day and manage your time. The acronym RPM stands for results, purpose and massive action. He first introduced this idea in his book ‘Getting to the Top’. This is a way of thinking for conditioning your brain to focus on the outcome and result that you're after. Super successful people like Tony understand that time is their most valuable resource. You cannot get time back which is why you need to maximize it. Unfortunately, a lot of people get caught up in the “I'm too busy mindset” but still don't get anything accomplished. One of the main reasons why this happens is that they don't know how to plan their days effectively. The secret to being productive lies in choosing what to do and doing it right, instead of doing more and more. This is why RPM is a very useful strategy. You can start by asking yourself about your ‘reasons’. What do you really want to achieve? What is your target? The clearer you are on what you want, the faster your brain will get you there. Next, ask yourself why you really want to achieve this? A lot of people aimlessly achieve throughout their day but don't have a reason for why they are doing what they do. You need to know why you want to achieve a specific result. Tony believes that if you have enough reasons to achieve something, you can get yourself to do anything. Your purpose is the fuel that drives you towards achieving something. According to Tony RPM is best implemented during the night, probably before you go to bed. So, The final step is to decide on you ‘massive action plan for the next day. The Pareto Principle states that 20% of actions are responsible for 80% of a plan's effects. This means that 80% of your output comes from 20% of your work. When you know where to devote your efforts you increase your productivity and chances of success. So, the two main benefits of RPM are that, first of all, it helps you to organise and plan your next day successfully. Second, you will feel more energised and happy in life. People who are stressed out and who are working under tight schedule such as students and professionals can understand how life transforms into a more pleasurable experience.
