The building was completed in 1344, presumably built on a pre-existing construction. At the entrance there is a door of the seventeenth century, the church has a single nave with 7 altars. A lateral staircase leads to the crypt of the church characterized by a complex plan. The space, in fact, is divided into three naves, with cross vaults, a deep apse area and an early 18th century chapel. The crypt is covered with eighteenth-century stuccoes. In the 9th century the Basilian monks dedicated the church to the cult of San Cono. Valuable artistic-architectural decorative elements: sumptuous high altar with rich frontal on which the image of San Cono and balustrade is carved, from the eighteenth century made by Giovanni La Mania, Padulan marble worker; wooden pulpit from the 17th century; 16th century fresco of San Tommaso d'Aquino; reliquary bust of San Cono by the sculptor Giacomo Colombo.
