The Khorramshahr operation was planned in such a way, that the Iraqis in spite of all preparation found themselves diving into Arvan-rud/ Arvand River to escape. They didn’t succeed. The operation was so vast that it covered from: 20 kilometres from Ahwaz and Hamidiyeh up to Shalamcheh and Khorramshahr, that the scores of soldiers sent in by Iraq were either captured or sent to hell. This is in spite of its heavy bombing of Iran, even chemical bombing. They found themselves to be no match for Iranian soldiers who fought by belief.
