When people’s heart wants something in life people feel confident in their life decisions because they feel more inspired to make changes within their lives. People are willing to make changes within their lives and they feel more comfortable about the decisions they are making. In society people are fearful that they will make bad decisions that they will regret later on. When people are feeling good about all the situations they are facing they are more confident in themselves. In an article published by Psychology Today titled “The Art of Decision-Making” the article talks about how humans make their day-to-day decisions and how their lives are affected by those decisions. The article also dives into the process on how humans make decisions in their lives. This article also examines the consequences of decision-making as a whole. In the article it states “Decision-making usually involves a mixture of intuition and rational thinking.”(Psychology Today) by looking at how people only use intuition to make decisions people are more confident when making decisions which suggests that people feel more confident. People who are more confident make better decisions which suggests that people are making the right decisions and following their life’s desires. People live more fulfilling lives when they have the liberty to make decisions they know that are right for them. People who are able to make decisions based on their intuition show people making decisions. Another viewpoint in terms of how people make decisions, Samira Ahmed author of a novel Love, Hate, and Other Filters main character Maya has difficulty making decisions typically. Maya finally feeling confident to voice her opinions shows she is using her intuition and not doubting herself. Maya's assertion of her feelings shows she is inspired to make better decisions about her life. Maya feeling confident shows she is growing as a person by making better decisions in regards to her life. When Maya wants to tell her parents about her life decisions she feels confident rather than feeling insecure about her life’s decisions, “I am not asking you for permission; I am informing you of my decision.”(247, Ahmed.) Maya showing confidence and tone suggesting she doesn't care about what others believe. Maya feeling better when she is asserting her viewpoint shows she is inspired to be the best version of herself. Much like in this story and how Samira Ahmed portrays Maya’s story and the article both agree upon the notion of how decision making is intuitive. This leads me to believe that decision making is a natural process that people are confident in. When humans are put in familiar situations they are able to have a clear mind when making decisions. Another shared notion that the article and Samira Ahmed have in common is familiarity of a situation and how that affects decision making. Additionally, the article also goes into detail about how decision-making when in a familiar situation people make decisions which leads them to follow their heart more. People knowing the consequences of the daily decisions make more informed life decisions. The article states, “When people are put in a familiar situation, their decisions are often fast and automatic” (Psychology Today). People are making decisions to better their lives which gives more control of their decisions. Those who may be more confident make smart choices, implying that they are making the right choices and following their dreams. When individuals have the power to make choices they know are best for them, they live happier lives. People who can make decisions based on their intuition demonstrate this ability. Moreover, the essay goes into detail regarding how people make decisions when they are in a familiar scenario, which drives them to follow their hearts better. Samira Ahmed and the article agree that confident decision making comes from instincts and familiarity. When people are confident about their decisions in a familiar space they follow them because they know it is right of them. When people feel free enough to make decisions about their life they follow their hearts more.
