WELCOME TO THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST AUDIO DEVOTIONAL. IT’S THE SUNDAY MAY 22, 2022 EDITION. Topic: So Far This Week. Congratulations for going through this week’s devotional. It was aimed at equipping you with some basic counselling skills so as to give care to others and also spice your relationship with family, friends and others. We emphasized that counselling involves actively listening to a client. It is key in client-centred counselling. Empathic listening is an experience where your whole being becomes tuned into the world and experience of another person. A combination of empathy and listening is therefore a basic requirement for all counselling behaviour and it’s in itself is often very therapeutic for the client. This also means that the counsellor must learn to win the trust of the counselee by keeping stories heard very confidential. Prayer Guide: Oh Lord please grant me grace to be a good peer Counsellor.
