My proposed solution is to stop throwing away non-water liquids down the drain. This would require a collective effort from everyone to pay more attention. Materials needed would be a storage of empty plastic bottles, to fill up the non-water liquids, which you can through away into the garbage. The cost of these materials depends on the person; if the person regularly buys drinks in plastic bottles, the same bottles can be reused to store the non-liquids, however, if the person doesn’t buy those drinks, they might need to buy plastic water bottles or perhaps even more environmentally friendly containers. A long-term issue that this can solve is that less water will be polluted, and more water-dependent creatures will be able to have longer lifespans as the issue gradually gets resolved.
