Have you ever heard of public policy? You may know our colleague from your METRO/makro country. You have always wondered: what can they do? Protecting METRO’s business: We prevent laws that might harm METRO’s ecosystem to be adopted. We raise our voice to include our position in the negotiation of new regulations. We find solutions to deal with the laws already adopted. . Tracking business opportunities: We chose wisely our politics partners to generate business opportunities for us and our customers. . Problem Solving: We support our colleagues when there are problems with local and national administration. . Making METRO visible: We ensure that METRO is seen by our political environment as the partner of its customers in trade and hospitality and as such also driver of change to be multichannel. . Internal capacity building: The stronger METRO's overall lobbying capacities are, the more we can achieve. We support our colleagues in countries and organizations with information, tools, and consultancy. . Today more than 30 people work in public relations. Each country manages its public affairs nationally. We think that if we want to reach more stakeholders, we have to interact more with the one thing we all have in commun : the stores. . We do believe that our core business is in the store but also through the ecosystem it is taking part of. Getting well known and connected to the right stakeholders is the key of success. The local associations, suppliers, politicians and the food communities have to know that we are not only a wholesaler but an omnichannel company. It will ensure us a gain of visibility with public events, gain of employment and new clients. It is our chance to step ahead from our main competitors.
