SpeakWrite’s mobile and desktop apps are a free full service dictation system that allow you to submit your job directly to one of our live typists and receive your completed job back in about 3 hours. To begin, download the “SpeakWrite” app from itunes or google playstore on your phone, or the Microsoft store on your PC or tablet. Once it’s downloaded, just login using your email and password. We recommend selecting ‘remember me’ so that you don’t have to enter your credentials each time. Once you’re logged in, you will then see the recording screen. Just touch the microphone to begin recording. Press Pause anytime. You will notice after you have started a recording, more options become available. Use the slide bar to navigate through the recording. Or you the back button to skip back 5 seconds at a time. To play back a portion of the audio, select the play button. “Erase to end” will delete audio from your current location to the end of the recording. Save your file anytime. Once you have saved your file, you will have the option of renaming it. Advanced options provide you with a few additional option for your recording including the ability to email the audio recording to yourself or someone else, and the ability to insert photos to be included in your final document. When you’re ready to send your audio for transcription, just click submit. The custom filename field allows you to designate the file name of your completed document when it’s returned to you. Be sure to select the job type that best describes your audio recording. single speaker, multiple speaker or Spanish. Finally, if you have any templates that you would like the typist to incorporate into your completed document, you may select them here. If, at any time you would like to return to the record screen for this job, just click the back button. When you’re satisfied with your selections, just click submit. Your job will be routed to the next available typist and you will receive a confirmation to your email. On the main recording screen, you will notice three lines at the top which will lead you to the main menu. From this page you can view the job status of your saved, inflight and completed jobs. First we will look at your saved audio. This will show all of the audio recordings you have saved to this device. You will be able to see if it has been submitted or not, you can email the audio to yourself or someone else, and you can submit the recording for transcription. In flight will show you jobs that are currently live in our system but have not yet been completed. And finally, completed jobs will show you all jobs that have been completed in the past 90 days. To have the completed document resent to your email, just click the envelop button. Or click the document icon to download the document. Import audio allows you to upload audio files saved to your device. Just browse to locate and select the file. You can then select more audio files to include in this submission, or, if you’re ready to submit, just follow the prompts.
