Healty eating = means eating a variety of foods that it gives nutrients we need to protect us against chronic disease Food balance = is a combination of selected food. It is a key to eating well considerated the 5 food groups. The 5 food groups are fruits, vegetables, grains, proteins food and diary. Fruits: fresh fruits, fruit product Grains: Corn,rice, quinoa, wheat, rye.. Vegetables: fresh vegetables, red and orange vegetables, beans, peas, dark green vegetables.. Proteine foods: tofu, nuts, seeds, fish, meat, eggs, poultry.. Dairy products: milk, yogurt, ice cream, pudding, cheese… FUEL OF THE BODY Some type of food help your body to grow and repair itself, other type give you energy: Proteins: help your body to make new tissues. They are called body-building foods (meat,fish, eggs and milk) Vitamins: vitamins and mineral salts help your body to work property and protect it against disease. Fruits, milk, eggs,cheese, fish, meat..) Fats: give your body energy, but too much fat intake can block arteries and cause risk to heart. And make your put on weight. Carboidrates: give your body energy. Eating too much often makes your fat and overweight. (potatoes, rice, bread, and cakes) Water: Water is used to keep the body hydrated and efficient. All drink contain water, and some food too. Lettuce, for example. Fibre: is a carbohydrate but it is not digested easly. Our intestine work harder and that is good for your health. Fibre is found in vegetable, fruits and bread. THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET The heard healthy mediterran diet is a healthy eating plan based on typical foods and recipes of mediterraneanean style cooking. Who live in the area around the mediterranean se have a lower risk of heart disease because the mediterranean diet contain a lot of fruits, vegetables, vegetarians, proteins, a moderate amounth of grain and a small amouth of red meat. Unsatured fats are good for the heart. In the mediterranean diet pyramid has been added herbs and spices because they are both healty and tasty. Eating fish and shellfish at least two times per week contribute to have a healthy heart. Is good to walking, biking, and swimming to stay healthy. UNHEALTHY DIET AND NUTRITION DISORDERS Unhealthy diet generally contains few nutrients and large proportions of unhealthy ingredients such as sugar, salt, saturated fats, and trans fats. What is the difference between trans fat and saturated fat? Saturated fats are the kinds of fats that causes higher level of cholesterole in the body. Many foods contains naturally saturated fats, suh as fatty beef, chicken with the skin on, cream, butter, and most other diary product. Trans fats are the kinds of fats add hydrogen to vegetable oils to make them more of solid. We can find trans fact in baked goods like breads, crackers, ready to eat cereals and cookies. NUTRITION DISORDERS Overeating leads to health problems, including heart disease, high cholesterol, and certain types of cancer or we can have nutrition disorders particullary in children and teeenagers, that are very dangerous. Obesity is caused by poor physical activity and poor nutrition. By ingesting more food than you consume, your body weight increases, causing various medical problems. Bulimia is a serious mental illness where people feel that they have lost control over their eating and their body. They eat large quantities of food, and then vomiting, taking laxatives or diuretics, in order to prevent weight gain. Anorexia is a serious mental health condition. People with anorexia don’t eat enough because they must have their body weitght as low as possible. They induce vomiting on their own, have a very restricted diet, and engage in excessive physical activity. So, If too many calories cause weight gain and obesity, too few calories can cause muscle loss, heart problems and death.
