Informative speech Dubai You have probably heard of the big city Dubai, one of the fanciest capitals and probably most expensive as well. So, let me teach you a little more about it. Dubai is the most popular city in the United Arab Emirates, the city was only a small fishing village in the 18th century, that grew into a cosmopolitan metropolis with a focus on hospitality and tourism. This city has the worlds highest building Burj Khalifa. Burj Khalifa has the highest number of stories in the world, highest occupied floor and is an attractive structure for tourists. When visiting Burj Khalifa, which is near the biggest mall in the world, Dubai Mall, you should also see the dancing fountain that is in front of the building. Some fun facts about Dubai: • Dubai has no income tax. People pay no taxes because of the zero-tax policy, which is probably one of the reasons that rich businessmen/women live there. • Police cars are no regular cars like we have in Sweden, they are cars from luxurious brands such as Ferrari, Bugatti, Mercedes, or Lamborghini. So, don´t be surprised if you witness these cars as police cars, while visiting. • The sun barely goes down, this is also one of the reasons why Dubai is a popular tourist city in the wintertime. But, in the summertime it can be so hot, you can fry an egg on the road. • Dubai is 85% foreigners, also there are less people originally from Dubai. Dubai is well known for being a great tourist city, as I mentioned earlier, and its intriguing mix of beaches, luxurious places, and deserts. Most people don´t really know the culture and history of this city. Dubai has a very rich Arabic heritage, it is an absolute monarchy, which means that the city is ruled by a single person who inherits power. Like a king or a prince, that has power. The Al Makhtoum family have reigned since 1833 till now. Even though Dubai has a very powerful Arabic culture, all other cultures and religion are very welcome and are free to pursue their religion and beliefs. Dubai is situated on the Persian Gulf coast, of the UAE (United Arab Emirates). The Persian Gulf coast is very known for its oil trading between the middle eastern countries and was a battlefield of a few wars back in the days. Dubai is neighbors with the capital Abu Dhabi in the south, which is also a very known city in the UAE. Dubai lies near the Arabian Desert, therefore more people have more places to visit and experience. The climate in Dubai is tropical desert, meaning that it is very hot in summertime, even at night, and it is very moist in the air. So, that also means that Dubai only has 2 distinct seasons, summer, and winter. So, if you really want to visit Dubai, I can inform you about the best places, voted by tourist sites for your trip. 1.
