My name is Robyn and I’m here today to present my opinion on cats and how they can be just as affectionate, playful, and amiable as many dogs. I have chosen this topic due to the popular opinion that dogs are finer and superior to cats. However, this opinion can be based off of misleading stereotypes and today I will inform you of the true nature and good qualities of cats. To begin, I’d like to provide some information on this topic. Many dog people justify their opinion by using facts such as this one ; cats spend 70% of their lives sleeping - this can be seen as indolent and soulless. Many will prefer a lively and excitable pet who they can spend time playing with, which is what a stereotypical dog is seen as. Be that as it may, that’s not necessarily a negative quality. Cats being tranquil and “lazy” is actually a trait that can relax plenty. Imagine a scenario where you’ve been busy all day and you’ve come home to put up your feet but your dog wants to play so it constantly bounces around you barking and bothering. Wouldn’t you prefer for the dog to be relaxed? Well, with a cat, you do not need to persuade your pet to be serene as it will already want to lie down and rest.
