Hello! Today we are going to take a closer look at the different ways of making selections on the comparison files. We will walk you through the tools: templates, negative selection, word selection, Find word in Target or Source, Clone and eventually the Sync function. If a selections template is chosen on the Select Files page, it will be applied to all the pages. Hence, if we instead move on to the manual selections page, the templates are chosen for each page. The Select all template covers the complete page. You can add the selection for multiple pages if you want. Use the Negative selection after Select all, to remove sections you want to exclude from the comparison. If the file contains a non-black rectangle, this will be recognized as a cutting line and then the cutting line template can be used. The TrimBox defines the actual page dimensions that gets printed. The trim box template is applicable if a TrimBox has been set for the artwork. Select words is useful if you want to select a defined amount of words in the artwork. When a word has been selected, it's possible to search for it in the other file. Here, the word appears several times. You can duplicate a selection by using the Clone button. If you want to select the same area in the other file, click the Sync button and voilà!
