My name is Samantha and I am the Teen Programs Coordinator at the Missouri Botanical Garden. I am reaching out to tell you about a fellowship opportunity for incoming first-year college students of the 2021-2022 school year. The application deadline is October 1st! The Missouri Botanical Garden Youth Fellowship program is one of the newest youth and community programs at the garden. It rewards students for their work and passion in the environmental, horticulture, and sustainability fields. This coming year we are seeking three first-year college students majoring in horticulture/botany or environmental/sustainability studies. Students will learn about National Geographic's Geo-Inquiry process and will design a research project on an environmental issue/horticulture topic of their choosing. At the completion of the program, each recipient will receive $2,000 to use for higher education expenses. This is a last attempt to get more applicants before the new deadline of October 1st. The fellowship is open to first-year college students (2021-2022 school year) residing in the 16-county St. Louis Metropolitan area. If you think you have any students that would be interested in the program, please direct them to me ([email protected]) or share the application link with them here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2L9X2ZQ. Applications are open until October 1st. Thank you for your time and let me know if you or students have any additional questions! All my best, Samantha
