I'm Flavia Piendibene, founder and CEO of Altoricamo and creator of the Armonia project. My green business is here to make a revolution about wedding dresses thanks to modularity, My intention is to make their production and their use more sustainable, thanks to a made-to-order system that allows to enhance the made in Italy and the SMEs involved in the bridal sector, avoiding wastes of time, of money and fabrics, in order to reduce the environmental impact. The gowns of the Armonia line are made to measure and customizable, their modern but romantic design allows them to be reused, because they can be disassembled after the wedding. So you can customize them as you want and then you can re-use your beautiful corset with your favourite jeans, or you can re-wear the leotard with a jacket. The skirts can be easily shortened, because they are already separated from the top, so it's easy to modify them and give them a new life. I am a designer, but also a seamstress and an embroiderer, I took myself the needle and thread in my hand, so I understood how much work there is behind the creation of a garment. In my life I have observed many unpleasant situations, not only related to the bad quality of clothes of dubious origins but also related to the exploitation of tailors in the fashion and bridal market. My goal is not only to create a beautiful, quality, traceable product, made in Italy and as more ecological as possible, but I want also to build a supply chain that can enhance italian craftsmanship and its incredible quality. For these reasons I'll collaborate with small artisanal realities for the creation of garments, because I want to create a connection between them and the re-sellers. The re-seller will be able to offer to its customers the possibility of an exclusive and unique, handmade garment, very different from a mass-producted bridal gown. Thanks to Stand-UP I was able to improve and I am currently improving many aspects of my project. In the first phase it helped me a lot to perfect some parts, pushing me to identify new questions and solve them. It made me think about some aspects that will make the business even more sustainable. For example I had only thought about the issue of certified fabrics and about the made to order system, while StandUP also made me meditate even about the importance of CO2 emissions related to shipments. They also helped me to eliminate some fabrics from my project, since they are not easy to dispose as a waste. So Stand Up really helped me to learn and understand very relevant things for my project. Currently I am in a business incubation program, thanks to which it will be easier for me to access to national and international markets, as I am followed by an expert trainer who is helping me to improve the the service and the product, to raise them to the next level. I have identified many calls and programs during these years and I can say that StandUP has been the only one that I have considered really useful and fair so far. The activities made me improve not only my business but also my mindset about sustainability. The program provides also vouchers for Start-Ups, that are very useful for paying the first expenses like the construction of the website, legal and commercial fees, trademark registration, the part related to digital activities and even more. I feel very lucky to have this incredible occasion of growth. I am sure that with the support of Stand-UP I will be able to get where I want to be. So thank you Stand-Up! It will be a pleasure for me to change the world together.
